Nicki Minaj has recently turned to social media to voice her frustrations, taking aim at some big names. In a string of posts, she didn’t hold back against JAY-Z, Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, and former NFL player Dez Bryant.
50 Cent jumped into the fray by commenting on Minaj’s social media activity. In his own Instagram post (which he later removed), 50 Cent shared a screenshot of Minaj’s tweet about Dez Bryant, questioning, “WTF going on here. Nikki be blacking out on these people LOL.”
Bryant, the focus of one of Minaj’s rants, was criticized for his past criticism of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Minaj suggested a game: every time Bryant does a ‘Jerry Jones’ story time, she’d retaliate with her stories about Roc Nation, JAY-Z, and Perez, whom she labeled ‘alleged racists.’
The exchange got personal when Minaj referenced a past allegation against Bryant involving his mother. She used this to draw parallels, questioning the integrity of those she named.
Bryant replied with a denial, arguing his actions were self-defense and calling Minaj out for her husband’s criminal past. He shot back, “Say bitch I didn’t go to jail or touch my mama.. I was defending myself.. you said we are speaking facts weird hoe..”
Adding fuel to the fire, Minaj offered Bryant $10 million to fight her husband, Kenneth Petty, saying she was pleased he brought up the topic. Bryant responded with bravado, welcoming the challenge and claiming, “I’ll stomp that nigga out right in front of you.. and it’s ROC for life bitch.”
Later, Bryant took a more reflective tone, reaching out to his younger fans. Apologizing, he said, “I’m not in the sphere of people crashing out on the internet…I apologize to the kids who follow me…you can make it through anything if you put your mind to it.”
The online antics of Nicki Minaj and Dez Bryant, with commentary from 50 Cent, have certainly heated up the social media landscape.
