Questlove Reveals New Posthumous D’Angelo Album

A star-studded evening at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame became even more memorable when Questlove dropped a bombshell about the late D’Angelo’s unreleased music.

Questlove, a well-known figure in the music world and close friend of D’Angelo, shared exciting news during an interview at the event. He confirmed that a posthumous album from the beloved R&B artist is on the horizon, promising sounds that blend past and future. “You’ll see soon. With him, it’s always the sound of yesterday but for the future. And this record is no different,” he explained, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

The buzz around D’Angelo’s new material had been building even before this announcement. Raphael Saadiq, another collaborator, had hinted at D’Angelo’s enthusiasm and creative streak in a podcast earlier. According to Saadiq, D’Angelo was in high spirits and working on multiple tracks, excited about his musical journey.

The upcoming album, still untitled, will feature contributions from talented artists like Q-Tip and Saadiq himself. There is a special track that the trio had worked on, featuring Q-Tip’s rap, Saadiq on bass, and D’Angelo’s signature vocals. Saadiq described the track as “funky as hell,” which sets high expectations for what’s to come.

This project will mark D’Angelo’s fourth studio album, following his 2014 Grammy-winning masterpiece, ‘Black Messiah.’ The artist’s untimely death last month due to cancer left a void in the music world, but his legacy continues to thrive through his timeless music.

D’Angelo’s influence and artistry were celebrated by Questlove in an emotional tribute, highlighting their deep friendship and D’Angelo’s unique contribution to Black music. His passing away at the age of 51 was a great loss, yet his music promises to keep his spirit alive.

The anticipation for D’Angelo’s new album is a testament to his enduring impact on music. Fans around the world eagerly await what promises to be a stunning collection of his final works.
