Travis Scott’s ‘Jackboys 2’ compilation album is setting the stage on fire by forecasting more than double the sales of Clipse’s ‘Let God Sort Em Out.’
Released two days later than the usual Friday, ‘Jackboys 2’ is projected to skyrocket to the top of the Billboard 200, boasting over 200,000 equivalent units sold. In contrast, ‘Let God Sort Em Out’ by Clipse, despite its acclaim, aims for a respectable 90,000 units within its initial week, placing it at number four.
Pusha T, one half of Clipse, hasn’t shied away from expressing his displeasure with Travis Scott lately. The Clipse single, ‘So Be It,’ features Pusha dissing Scott with some hard-hitting lines, signifying deep-seated friction between the artists. According to Pusha T, Scott’s earlier collaboration ‘Meltdown’ included a line that shaded Pharrell Williams, a move that Pusha didn’t take lightly.
In his defense, Pusha T shared with GQ that the issue stemmed from a recording session encounter in Paris. While both were working with Pharrell, Scott showed up unexpectedly, displaying an overenthusiastic demeanor. To make matters worse, Scott later released ‘Meltdown,’ omitting the Drake verse that took aim at Pharrell.
Pusha T accuses Scott of inconsistency in his loyalties, pointing out that Scott’s track record speaks for itself. He noted that Scott exhibits behaviors that Pusha considers underhanded and disloyal.
Through all this drama, Scott remains unflustered, focusing on his music, which seems to be resonating well with audiences. Social media is abuzz with conversations about these projected sales figures, making ‘Jackboys 2’ the talk of the town.
The ongoing tension between Travis Scott and Pusha T adds an intriguing backdrop to the sales race between ‘Jackboys 2’ and Clipse’s new album. Regardless of the drama, both artists continue to make waves in the music industry.
