A$AP Rocky and Drake’s Rap Rivalry Heats Up

A$AP Rocky’s new album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” reignites his feud with Drake.

  • On the track “Stole Ya Flow,” Rocky taunts Drake over their past and accuses him of copying his style.
  • Drake’s previous album, “For All the Dogs,” included lines that seemed aimed at Rocky.
  • Tensions date back to rocky comments about their friendship turning sour.
  • A reconciliation isn’t in sight, according to Rocky’s interview with The New York Times.

A$AP Rocky’s latest album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” adds more fuel to his ongoing rivalry with Drake. With the track “Stole Ya Flow,” Rocky doesn’t hold back, taking shots at Drake’s style and their personal history. “First you stole my flow / So I stole your bitch,” Rocky declares, adding a jab about alleged plastic surgery: “N*ggas getting BBLs, lucky we ain’t body-shame.”

In a chat with The New York Times, Rocky confirmed what many suspected: the song targets Drake. When the interviewer hinted the internet would identify Drake as the diss target, Rocky affirmed this notion casually, saying, “Yeah.”

Drake’s album, “For All the Dogs,” also took clear shots at A$AP Rocky, referencing his relationship with Rihanna in the song “Fear of Heights.” Drake’s lyrics dismiss any lingering feelings for her, adding fuel to their lyrical tussle.

Their friendship, once solid, seems strained as Rocky recently reflected on the change, saying: “I just started seeing people who started out as friends become foes.” He mentioned that envy played a role, saying, “It seemed like they were unhappy for [me] and started sending shots.” Despite this, Rocky doesn’t see the need for reconciliation.

The beef traces back to Drake’s 2023 lyrics about Rocky and Rihanna, creating a spiral of retaliatory tracks. Rocky shared that resolving the beef isn’t a priority, insisting, “It don’t even need to be [resolved]. For what?” As their artistic spat continues, both rappers appear to keep their focus on music.

Without reconciliation in sight, this musical feud seems set to continue.
