- Cam’ron claims he never got paid for his ‘Ready ’24’ contribution, sparking the lawsuit.
Cam’ron decided to clear the air about his lawsuit against J. Cole over what he describes as a failed collaboration agreement. He took to his YouTube channel, ‘Talk With Flee,’ to explain his side of the story involving a significant, at least $500,000 legal claim.
According to Cam’ron, the dispute stems from an agreement where he contributed features to J. Cole’s tracks ’95 South’ and ‘Ready ’24.’ In return, J. Cole was supposed to offer a guest verse for Cam’s future project, which never materialized.
Reflecting on their agreement, Cam’ron humorously recalled how Cole declined the collaboration, citing reasons like ‘the chakra ain’t right’ and needing the ‘moon to align with the stars.’ Meanwhile, Cam had completed his part in record time, knocking out his verse quickly.
Feeling short-changed, Cam’ron then sought an interview with Cole as an alternative, which was agreed upon but repeatedly postponed. Cole was reportedly reluctant to discuss a rap battle with Kendrick Lamar and continued delaying due to album commitments.
In October, Cam’ron hit the breaking point and filed a lawsuit after receiving no compensation for ‘Ready ’24.’ He insists that he is owed both credit as a co-author and financial reparation.
As J. Cole gears up to release his new album, ‘The Fall-Off,’ the question remains if he will respond to Cam’ron’s claims or offer the collaboration promised, adding another layer to their ongoing saga.
Only time will tell if Cam’ron’s legal actions will see resolution or if these two hip-hop powerhouses can find common ground.
