Joey Bada$$ Rants on Album Delays with Columbia Records

Joey Bada$$ is airing out his frustrations with Columbia Records. The delay of his album ‘Lonely at the Top’ is not sitting well with him.

  • Joey claims his album has been finished for over a month, but the release is stalled due to the label.
  • This delay is not caused by sample clearance or feature conflicts, according to Joey.
  • He’s been vocal all year, picking fights with the West Coast and artists like Kendrick Lamar.
  • Despite the drama, Columbia Records has remained silent so far.

Joey Bada$$ is not holding back when it comes to his disappointment with Columbia Records. In a candid moment on Instagram Live, he voiced his discontent over the delay of his new album, ‘Lonely at the Top’. He passionately stated, “My album is signed, sealed, and delivered over a month ago.”

Joey pointed out that the delay wasn’t due to common issues like sample clearances or feuds with other artists. “This ain’t cause of no sample clearances, this ain’t cause of no features,” he emphasized. It was clear he believed the label itself was hindering his progress.

The New York rapper didn’t mince words about his relationship with Columbia. “I’m signed to Columbia Records but for the longest time, I just ain’t been f*cking with them,” he said. Joey has been taking the independent route lately, releasing music on platforms like YouTube.

His frustration with the label isn’t new. This year has seen him picking fights with the entire West Coast, specifically calling out big names like Kendrick Lamar and Rey Vaughn. On ‘The Finals’, Joey raps regarding Kendrick, “I salute you Kenny but I know you well aware,” indicating a challenge for competition.

On another track, ‘The Ruler’s Back’, Joey calls out what he views as favoritism on the West Coast, rapping, “Too much West Coast dick lickin’.” His words have stirred the pot in the hip-hop scene.

For now, Columbia Records has not publicly responded to Joey’s claims or addressed the album delay. Fans are left waiting to see how this tension will resolve and when ‘Lonely at the Top’ will finally drop.

How this saga unfolds is anyone’s guess, but Joey’s fans are surely waiting with bated breath for his new album.
