After 25 long years, the Wu-Tang Clan is diving back into the gaming scene with their latest project, ‘Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver.’ This cooperative action RPG lets up to four players come together on an epic adventure. As players, you’ll be tasked with locating the missing members of the Wu-Tang Clan while defending the sacred land of Shaolin.
Originally, the group made waves in the gaming industry with their 1999 release, ‘Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style,’ a title that gained a devoted following over the years. Now, they’re embarking on a new journey with ‘Rise of the Deceiver,’ blending elements of Afro-surrealism and anime to create a unique experience. And yes, the game’s soundtrack is exclusively Wu-Tang classics and new tracks by the renowned Just Blaze.
Interestingly, ‘Rise of the Deceiver’ is intricately tied to ‘Angel of Dust,’ a horror film directed by RZA. This film, in development since 2019, offers a supernatural thriller vibe that is sure to captivate fans.
Ghostface Killah himself expressed excitement about the project, describing it as an opportunity to blend music, storytelling, and an interactive journey. “It’s about blending music, storytelling, and interactive experience,” he said, clearly thrilled for fans to see what the game holds.
Though the game doesn’t have a set release date just yet, it’s confirmed that it will first be available on PC before launching on gaming consoles. Meanwhile, the Wu-Tang Clan is currently on their final tour of North America. RZA notes that this ‘Final Chamber’ tour marks a special chance for the group to reconnect with fans and share untold stories, all while performing with Run the Jewels.
In his words, “This tour is called ‘The Final Chamber.’ It’s a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers to run around the globe together one more time and spread the Wu swag, music, and culture.”
Wu-Tang Clan is bringing their legendary influence from music into gaming once more, promising an enthralling experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.
