Since his emergence as one of the leading SoundCloud rappers of his generation, Lil Uzi Vert has gone on to become a full-blown hip hop star and cultural icon.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lil Uzi Vert dropped his debut mixtape, Luv Is Rage , in 2015 which caught the attention of Don Cannon. He then signed a record deal with Atlantic Records through DJ Drama, Don Cannon’s and Leighton Morrison’s imprint, Generation Now. The DJ-producer would later sign Uzi to his and DJ Drama’s Generation Now imprint under Atlantic Records.
In 2017, Uzi would strike gold with his single “XO Tour Llif3”, a multiplatinum hit record that would propel him into the stratosphere. That same year, he dropped his debut album, Luv Is Rage 2 , which topped the charts and Uzi has been a staple of hip hop ever since .
