Ranking XXXTentacion’s First Week Album Sales

XXXTentacion was a troubled but brilliant artist. There’s no denying that he had the innate talent for creating music that resonated with a huge audience.

Coming up in the late 2010s as one of the figureheads of the SoundCloud rap movement, XXXTentacion caught the industry’s attention with his 2017 single, “Look at Me”, which was released independently via SoundCloud, and then later through Empire Distribution.

As one of the hottest up-and-coming rappers in the game, XXX began receiving offers from major record labels to sign with them, but he decided to stay independent with Empire to maintain full creative control over his music. Not long after, he released his debut album, 17 , which performed strongly, debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200 with 87,000 units sold in the first week.

Just before his tragic passing in June 18, 2018 at the young age of 20, XXXTentacion released his second album, ? , to even stronger acclaim and commercial success. After his passing, the album’s single “Sad!” topped the Billboard Hot 100, making XXX the first music act to earn a number one single as a lead artist since Biggie’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997.

From his debut album, 17 , to his 2019 posthumous release, Bad Vibes Forever , here are the rankings for XXXTentacion’s first week album sales.
